New Quarries Lodge of Mark Master Masons
RAM MASONRY IN AUSTRIA
At present, there is only one Royal Ark Mariners (RAM) lodge of the Ancient and Honourable Fraternity of Royal Ark Mariners in Austria, the New Shores Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 1903 EC, in Vienna. It works under the Grand Master's Royal Ark Council of the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of England and Wales and its Districts and Lodges Overseas
The RAM degree leads back to the deluge and Noah’s ark. It is thus the “earliest” Masonic degree and takes its references from the Hebrew Bible (the “Old/First Testament”). Given its chequered and rather uncertain history in England during 18th and 19th centuries, it is sometimes called “enigmatic”. Noahic contents of degrees, however, date back to the early mid-18th century in England and France (and soon well beyond these two countries) and are supposed to have originated already in the late 17th century in England. The degree is worked in English, Scottish, Irish and US constitutions and governed by different Masonic authorities according to local custom.
The New Shores Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners is “moored” to the New Quarries Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1903 E.C. and meets on the same days and venues.
Its Scribe can be contacted via the Secretary of the New Quarries Lodge at info@nql1903.eu.
